What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Afuri Ramen Dumpling's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, retraining is a condition for franchise renewal. Specifically, before the renewal of an Afuri Ramen Dumpling franchise agreement, either the franchisee or their designated manager must attend and successfully complete any retraining program that Afuri Ramen Dumpling prescribes in writing.
The franchisee is responsible for covering all expenses associated with the retraining program. These expenses include travel, meals, lodging, and Afuri Ramen Dumpling's then-current training fee. This means that franchisees need to budget not only for the direct costs of the training program itself but also for all associated travel and accommodation expenses.
Afuri Ramen Dumpling retains the right to refuse renewal of the franchise agreement if the franchisee fails to satisfactorily comply with the terms of the agreement, including the retraining requirement. The determination of satisfactory compliance is at Afuri Ramen Dumpling's sole discretion, exercised in good faith. This clause underscores the importance of adhering to all requirements set forth by Afuri Ramen Dumpling to ensure the possibility of renewal.
