Before you open your franchise, we will:
-
- Provide initial orientation and training to you and your designated manager(s). (Franchise Agreement, Section 3.1).
Before you commence your Franchise operations, we will provide a mandatory initial training program for you (or your individual owners if you are an entity) and your General Manager, Kitchen Manager, Bar Manager, and Commissary Manager. The initial training program is held at our headquarters and affiliateowned restaurant (currently in Portland, Oregon) and lasts approximately six weeks. (Franchise Agreement, Section 3.1). If you are purchasing an operational franchise from an existing franchisee, then the duration of the mandatory initial training program will be approximately two weeks. The initial training program is included in the Initial Franchise Fee only for your first franchise. For additional franchises, we will provide additional training if we deem it necessary or upon your request (subject to our availability) at our then-current training fees.
The initial training is included in the Initial Franchise Fee. However, you are responsible for all expenses you and your employees may incur to participate in the initial training, including wages or benefits. You will not receive any compensation for services rendered by the trainee during this or any other training.
If you desire to have more than three individuals receive initial training, these additional individuals will be accommodated at our convenience. We reserve the right to charge a reasonable fee for the provision of the training for these additional individuals.
We will provide the services of a trainer on-site at your Franchise Premises for approximately 14 days in conjunction with the Franchise's opening (approximately seven days before and seven days after opening). This on-site assistance is included in the Initial Franchise Fee only for your first franchise. If you are purchasing an operational franchise from an existing franchisee, then the duration of this on-site assistance will be approximately one week. For additional franchises, we will provide this on-site assistance if we deem it necessary or upon your request (subject to our availability) at our then-current training fees. For additional franchises, you will also be responsible for our out-of-pocket costs for transportation, meals and lodging.
