Answer from 2024 FDD Document

If the Franchise is managed by any persons other than you, you must notify us of the identity of the manager(s). However, we shall not have the right to hire, fire, direct, supervise or discipline your manager(s). The training program must be completed by all franchisees and their designated manager(s) unless, at our reasonable discretion, based upon a franchisee's or a designated manager's experience, it is deemed unnecessary.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Afuri Ramen Dumpling Franchise Disclosure Document, if the franchise is managed by someone other than the franchisee, you must inform Afuri Ramen Dumpling of the manager's identity. However, Afuri Ramen Dumpling does not have the authority to hire, fire, direct, supervise, or discipline the franchisee's managers.

Furthermore, the designated manager must complete the initial mandatory training program. Afuri Ramen Dumpling may, at its discretion, deem the training unnecessary based on the manager's prior experience. The initial training program is held at Afuri Ramen Dumpling's headquarters and affiliate-owned restaurant, currently in Portland, Oregon, and lasts approximately six weeks. If purchasing an operational franchise from an existing franchisee, the training duration is reduced to approximately two weeks.

The franchisee is responsible for covering accommodations, travel, room, board, and wage expenses for their personnel during the training period. This ensures that managers are adequately prepared to uphold Afuri Ramen Dumpling's standards and operational procedures, even though the franchisor does not directly oversee their employment.
