What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Afuri Ramen Dumpling's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee proposes any modifications to the equipment packages provided by the franchisor, these modifications must be approved in writing by Afuri Ramen Dumpling. The approval of any modifications is entirely at the discretion of Afuri Ramen Dumpling. This is to ensure a uniform image that aligns with the Afuri Ramen Dumpling franchise system concepts.
This means that while franchisees are responsible for furnishing and equipping their franchise location, they do not have complete autonomy in selecting equipment. Afuri Ramen Dumpling maintains control over the equipment used to ensure brand consistency across all franchise locations. Franchisees must adhere to the standards and specifications established by Afuri Ramen Dumpling for design, layout, equipment, and furnishings. Any deviations from these standards require prior written consent from the franchisor.
Furthermore, Afuri Ramen Dumpling can require franchisees to modify the layout, furnishings, and equipment within a timeframe that the franchisor deems reasonable. All equipment must conform to Afuri Ramen Dumpling's equipment specifications, and the franchisor may also require reasonable changes or additions to the equipment. This level of control is typical in franchising, as it allows the franchisor to maintain brand standards and operational consistency across all locations, which is intended to protect the brand's reputation and customer experience.
