What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to the 2024 Afuri Ramen Dumpling FDD, if franchisees want to use their own advertising materials for local advertising programs, they must first submit all advertising copy and other promotional materials to Afuri Ramen Dumpling for approval. The franchisee cannot use any advertising copy or promotional material until Afuri Ramen Dumpling approves it. This ensures that all advertising aligns with the brand's standards and image.
This requirement gives Afuri Ramen Dumpling control over how its brand is presented in local markets. While franchisees have the flexibility to create their own advertising, they must adhere to the franchisor's guidelines and obtain permission before implementation. This process helps maintain consistency and quality in advertising across all franchise locations.
Additionally, Afuri Ramen Dumpling prohibits franchisees from establishing a website to promote the brand or their franchise location. Instead, Afuri Ramen Dumpling will list the franchisee's location on its own website. The FDD also states that Afuri Ramen Dumpling retains the exclusive right to use social media to promote the brand. Franchisees are not allowed to use the brand or promote their franchise on social media without prior written approval from Afuri Ramen Dumpling, which may be granted or withheld at their discretion. If approval is granted, the franchisee's use of social media must strictly comply with the standards outlined in the Operations Manual.
