What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Afuri Ramen Dumpling FDD, the training program is conducted by several individuals within the company. Taichi Ishizuki, who has served as President, CEO, and CFO since 2018, is one of the training supervisors. He has experience in the training subjects dating back to 2003. Zachary Ragghianti, who has served as Director of Culinary/Ramen & Dumpling U.S. Operations for AFURI-USA since December 2021, is also a trainer. His experience in the training subjects dates back to at least 2016. Jennifer Underwood, who has served as Vice President of Hospitality for AFURI-USA since 2020, is another trainer.

For a prospective Afuri Ramen Dumpling franchisee, this means that the training for their general manager will be conducted by experienced professionals within the company. The trainers have extensive backgrounds in relevant fields, which suggests a comprehensive and knowledgeable training program. The FDD also specifies that the General Manager and individual owner(s) must attend the training for the Kitchen Manager, Bar Manager, and Commissary Manager, indicating a thorough approach to management training.

It is important to note that the training schedule may be amended, and training is scheduled on an as-needed basis depending on the number of franchisees requesting training and the availability of the franchisor's training personnel. The initial mandatory training program must be completed within 45 days of the scheduled opening date. Failure to complete the training program to the franchisor's satisfaction may result in the termination of the Franchise Agreement, with a refund of 50% of the Initial Franchise Fee. Therefore, franchisees should prioritize completing the training as soon as possible after executing the Franchise Agreement.
