What This Means (2024 FDD)

The 2024 Afuri Ramen Dumpling Franchise Disclosure Document does not explicitly state who bears the costs of retraining upon franchise renewal. However, the document does state that the initial franchise fee of $45,000 includes required training costs. It also mentions that to renew the franchise, a franchisee must comply with the terms of Afuri Ramen Dumpling's then-current Franchise Agreement forms and that these forms may vary materially from the original agreement. Royalty Fees, Advertising Fees, and other fees will be set at the then prevailing rates and terms.

Because the specific costs associated with retraining during renewal are not detailed, prospective franchisees should clarify this point with Afuri Ramen Dumpling. Understanding whether retraining is required, and who is responsible for covering those expenses, is crucial for financial planning. Franchise agreements often evolve, and renewal terms can differ significantly from the initial agreement.

It is common in the franchise industry for renewal agreements to include updated training requirements to ensure franchisees are current with the brand's standards and operational procedures. The cost of such training can vary widely, with some franchisors including it as part of the renewal fee, while others may charge separately. Therefore, it is essential for potential Afuri Ramen Dumpling franchisees to seek specific information about retraining costs during the renewal process to make informed decisions.
