What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Aerus's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the licensee's ability to modify, copy, translate, or reproduce the Aerus software or documentation is strictly limited. The Software License Agreement outlines specific conditions under which these actions may be permitted.

Specifically, the franchisee cannot modify, copy, translate, or reproduce any part of the software or documentation without first obtaining Aerus's prior written consent. Even with written consent, such actions are only allowed to the extent necessary for operating the franchised business. Any copies made under the franchisor's direction must include proprietary notices as requested by Aerus, including a copyright statement.

This restriction is typical in franchising to protect the franchisor's intellectual property and maintain uniformity across the franchise system. Prospective Aerus franchisees should understand that they have very limited rights to alter or duplicate the software and documentation provided, and doing so without permission could result in a breach of the franchise agreement.
