Answer from 2025 FDD Document

We have the right, but no obligation, to send an "opening team" to support the Store during its opening phase and to help train your supervisory employees on our philosophy and Brand Standards (but not matters relating to labor relations and employment practices). The Brand Fund currently will pay the wages and travel-related expenses of any opening team we choose to send. However, if in our opinion you and/or the Store needs, or if you request and we agree to provide, special guidance, assistance, or training (excluding training relating to labor relations and employment practices) that is in addition to any support we choose to provide, you must pay our personnel's daily charges (including wages) and travel, hotel, and living expenses. We have the right to delay the Store's opening until all required training has been satisfactorily completed. (Franchise Agreement—Section 6.C)

Retraining

If your Store manager fails to complete Initial Training to our satisfaction, or we determine after an inspection that retraining is necessary because the Store is not operating according to Brand Standards, we will offer a retraining session. You must pay all employee compensation and expenses during retraining. We have the right to terminate the Franchise Agreement if you fail to open the Store for business with a fully-training staff by the opening deadline. (Franchise Agreement—Section 6.B)

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to 7 Brew's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee may be required to cover certain costs related to training and assistance from 7 Brew personnel. Specifically, if the franchisee or the store requires or requests special guidance, assistance, or training beyond the support 7 Brew chooses to provide initially, the franchisee is responsible for covering the daily charges (including wages), travel, hotel, and living expenses of 7 Brew's personnel. This excludes training related to labor relations and employment practices.

Additionally, if a store manager fails to complete the initial training satisfactorily, or if 7 Brew determines after an inspection that retraining is necessary due to the store not operating according to brand standards, 7 Brew will offer a retraining session. During this retraining, the franchisee must cover all employee compensation and expenses.

Furthermore, 7 Brew has the right to require store managers to attend and complete additional training courses and programs periodically. The franchisee is responsible for covering the compensation and expenses for their store managers during this training. If a franchisee requests training courses or programs to be provided locally, they must pay 7 Brew's current training fee, which can be up to $1,500 per trainer per day, plus travel and living expenses for the training personnel. The franchisee must also pay all costs to attend the annual meeting of all 7 Brew franchisees and any meeting fee that 7 Brew charges.
