What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to 7 Brew's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to specific requirements regarding consumer data. Franchisees are obligated to comply with all laws governing the use, protection, and disclosure of Consumer Data. This means a franchisee must stay up-to-date on all relevant data privacy laws and implement appropriate measures to safeguard customer information. Failure to comply with these laws could result in legal repercussions and damage to the 7 Brew brand.

In the event of a data security incident at the store, a 7 Brew franchisee is required to immediately notify the franchisor. The franchisee must specify the extent to which Consumer Data was compromised or disclosed. Furthermore, the franchisee is obligated to comply and cooperate with 7 Brew's instructions for addressing the data security incident. This includes potentially granting 7 Brew or its designee access to the franchisee's computer system, either remotely or at the store. This level of access allows 7 Brew to take necessary steps to protect Consumer Data and the brand's reputation.

The Franchise Disclosure Document also states that franchisees must promptly disclose to 7 Brew all ideas, concepts, techniques, or materials relating to a 7 Brew Store, referred to as "Innovations." These Innovations belong to 7 Brew and are considered works made-for-hire. Franchisees may not use any Innovation in operating the store without prior written approval from 7 Brew. This requirement ensures that all intellectual property developed in connection with the 7 Brew brand remains under the control of the franchisor.
