Will I receive an exclusive territory under the 7 Brew Development Rights Rider?
7_Brew Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
Because of our rights with respect to Non-Traditional 7 BREW Stores, you will not receive an exclusive territory under the DRR. You may face competition from other franchisees, from outlets that we own, or from other channels of distribution or competitive brands that we control.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 7 Brew's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you enter into a Development Rights Rider (DRR), you will not receive an exclusive territory. While you will have the exclusive right to develop Traditional 7 Brew stores within a defined territory, 7 Brew retains the right to construct, develop, and operate Non-Traditional 7 Brew stores within that same territory. This means that even within your designated area, 7 Brew or other franchisees can establish Non-Traditional stores, which could compete with your Traditional stores.
This lack of exclusivity is further emphasized by the fact that 7 Brew and its affiliates have unrestricted rights regarding Non-Traditional stores, even within the Area of Protection around your store. The Area of Protection is a radius of 1.5 or 2 miles from your store's building, but this protection only applies to other Traditional 7 Brew stores. 7 Brew can still operate or allow others to operate Non-Traditional stores within this area. This significantly reduces the territorial protection a franchisee might expect.
Furthermore, 7 Brew retains broad rights to engage in various activities within your territory, including offering products and services similar to those sold at 7 Brew stores through different channels. This includes the internet, retailers, and other distribution methods. They can also acquire businesses that compete with 7 Brew, even those operating within your Area of Protection. Given these extensive exceptions and retained rights, prospective franchisees should be aware that the territorial protection offered by 7 Brew is limited and subject to significant competition from both within and outside the 7 Brew system.
