What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 FDD, the Franchisee Representations document for 7 Brew is used to confirm that prospective franchisees were not given any unauthorized, untrue, inaccurate, or misleading information during the franchise sales process. This document ensures that any statements or promises made to the franchisee are consistent with the official franchise documents. By signing this document, the franchisee confirms the truthfulness of its contents, and 7 Brew will rely on this confirmation.
The Franchisee Representations document is not used if the franchise will operate in, or the franchisee resides in, California, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Virginia, Washington, or Wisconsin. The document requires the franchisee to initial statements confirming their understanding of various aspects of the franchise agreement. These statements cover topics such as the variability of results between different 7 Brew stores, the prohibition of unauthorized income or sales representations, and the franchisee's opportunity to seek advice from advisors and investigate the 7 Brew system.
7 Brew uses this document to protect itself from potential future claims by franchisees who might argue they were misled during the sales process. It reinforces that franchisees enter the agreement with a clear understanding of the risks and opportunities involved. This type of document is a common practice in franchising, as it helps to ensure both parties are aligned on the terms and expectations of the franchise relationship. Prospective franchisees should carefully review each statement in the Franchisee Representations document and ensure they fully understand and agree with it before signing.
