Answer from 2025 FDD Document

No statement, questionnaire, or acknowledgement signed or agreed to by you in connection with the commencement of the franchise relationship shall have the effect of (i) waiving any claims under any applicable state franchise law, including fraud in the inducement, or (ii) disclaiming reliance on any statement made by us, any franchise seller, or any other person acting on our behalf. This provision supersedes any other term of any document executed in connection with the franchise.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 7 Brew Franchise Disclosure Document, Maryland franchisees are protected from waiving claims or disclaiming reliance on franchisor statements. Specifically, any statement, questionnaire, or acknowledgement signed by a 7 Brew franchisee in connection with starting the franchise cannot waive claims under applicable state franchise law, including fraud in the inducement.

Furthermore, Maryland franchisees cannot disclaim reliance on any statement made by 7 Brew, any franchise seller, or anyone acting on 7 Brew's behalf. This protection is explicitly stated to override any other conflicting terms in any document executed related to the franchise agreement. This ensures that franchisees in Maryland retain their legal rights and recourse based on representations made to them.

This provision is particularly important for prospective franchisees as it prevents 7 Brew from enforcing clauses that might limit the franchisee's ability to claim they were misled or provided false information during the franchise sales process. This offers a layer of security and legal protection to franchisees operating in Maryland, ensuring they can hold 7 Brew accountable for their representations.
