What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 7 Brew's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if the transferee's management personnel are different from the current management, they must satisfactorily complete the then-current Initial Training program. This is a condition that 7 Brew may impose before approving the transfer.
7 Brew offers an initial training program that includes virtual, distance, and electronic learning, and potentially on-site training at a location of 7 Brew's choosing. This Initial Training is provided to the ownership group, store managers, and hourly employees at no additional charge, focusing on the company's philosophy, products, brand standards, and operational aspects, excluding labor relations and employment practices. The store management team must complete this training and pass the required tests to become certified before opening to the public. At least two fully-trained managers must be on-site at the 7 Brew location.
The franchisee is responsible for covering the wages, benefits, and travel and lodging expenses (TRE) for their store managers and employees during any on-site training. Additionally, the franchisee must ensure workers' compensation insurance is in place for employees during training and provide proof of this insurance before the training begins. All attendees must also be food-safety certified.
If store managers do not complete the initial training satisfactorily, or if a store isn't operating according to brand standards, 7 Brew may require retraining. The franchisee is responsible for all employee compensation and TRE during retraining. The store can only operate if at least two fully-trained, certified managers are on staff and present at the store. This ensures that the new management team is well-versed in 7 Brew's standards and operational procedures, maintaining consistency and quality across all franchise locations.
