What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 7 Brew's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for properly training all store employees to perform their job tasks. 7 Brew may provide training tools and recommendations for franchisees to use to ensure employees comply with brand standards. These training materials may be updated periodically to reflect changes in training methods, procedures, and brand standards.
7 Brew offers an initial training program that includes training for the ownership group, store managers, and hourly employees at no additional charge. This initial training focuses on the company's philosophy, products, brand standards, and material aspects of operating a 7 Brew store, excluding labor relations and employment practices. The store management team must complete this initial training and pass applicable operations and proficiency tests to become certified before opening to the public. The store must have at least two fully-trained managers on-site.
Franchisees are responsible for paying their store managers' and other employees' wages, benefits, and travel, lodging, and expenses (TRE) while they attend any on-site training. Franchisees must also maintain workers' compensation insurance for their employees during training and provide proof of insurance before the training program begins. Everyone attending training must be food-safety certified. If store managers fail to complete initial training or if retraining is necessary due to the store not operating according to brand standards, 7 Brew may offer a retraining session, with the franchisee responsible for all employee compensation and TRE during retraining.
7 Brew may send an opening team to the store to support the opening phase and help train supervisory employees on the company's philosophy and brand standards, but not on matters relating to labor relations and employment practices. While 7 Brew pays the wages and TRE of the opening team, franchisees are responsible for these costs if they request or need special guidance, assistance, or training beyond the support provided by the opening team. 7 Brew may also advise franchisees on supervisory-employee training methods and procedures, but franchisees have sole responsibility for the employment terms and conditions of all store employees.
