What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 360 Painting Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to provide unlimited access to their Quickbooks Online account. This access is necessary for the provision of accounting and business advisory services. These services include prelaunch accounting setup after the franchisee establishes their Quickbooks Online account, creating the chart of accounts, recording prelaunch expenses, and ongoing monthly accounting and business advisory services. The ongoing services also encompass recording revenue and expense transactions, monthly bank account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and participation in periodic coaching sessions.

This requirement means that 360 Painting or its designated vendors will have continuous access to the franchisee's financial data within Quickbooks Online. This level of access allows them to monitor financial performance, ensure compliance with accounting practices, and provide business advice based on real-time data. While this can be beneficial for franchisees who may lack accounting expertise, it also raises potential concerns about data security and privacy.

After being open and operating for 12 months, a 360 Painting franchisee has the option to opt out of the franchisor's accounting and business advisory services. If they choose to opt out, they must use an approved third-party vendor for these services, but they must continue with 360 Painting or an approved accounting and business advisory services provider for the full duration of their Franchise Agreement. This provides some flexibility after the initial year, but franchisees are still obligated to use an approved provider for the life of the agreement. Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the implications of granting unlimited access to their financial data and evaluate the franchisor's data security policies and the reputation of any approved third-party vendors.
