You must designate an Owner to serve as the "Operating Principal." The Operating Principal must have authority over all business decisions related to your Franchised Business and must have the power to bind you in all dealings with us. In addition, you may appoint a trained manager (the "Manager") to manage the day-to-day business of your Franchised Business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 1 800 Packouts Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee operates a franchised business, they must designate an Owner to serve as the Operating Principal. The Operating Principal holds a significant role, as they must have the authority to make all business decisions related to the franchised business.
Furthermore, the Operating Principal must have the power to legally bind the franchisee in all dealings with 1 800 Packouts. This means the Operating Principal is the key representative responsible for ensuring the franchisee's compliance and communication with the franchisor.
While the Operating Principal handles high-level decisions and obligations, the franchisee may also appoint a trained manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the 1 800 Packouts franchise. This allows for a division of responsibilities, where the Operating Principal focuses on strategic matters and compliance, while the manager handles the daily tasks and staff.
