What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 1 800 Packouts's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, while on-site assistance isn't guaranteed, it may be available. 1 800 Packouts will provide advice, guidance, and support in connection with the opening and initial operation of the franchised business. However, if you specifically request on-site assistance and 1 800 Packouts is able to schedule it at a mutually agreeable time, you will be required to pay their reasonable fees for the assistance. You will also be responsible for covering the reasonable travel, lodging, and per diem expenses incurred by their personnel while providing the on-site support.
This means that while 1 800 Packouts offers support during the opening phase, franchisees should be prepared to potentially cover additional costs if they require someone from the company to be physically present at their location. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisors often charge for on-site support to cover their expenses.
Prospective franchisees should inquire about the typical fees associated with on-site assistance to factor these potential costs into their initial budget. Understanding the circumstances under which on-site support is most beneficial can also help in making informed decisions about whether to request and pay for this service.
