Can a 1 800 Packouts franchisee use existing trucks?

We require you to lease or purchase at least one 16-foot box truck and/or one 24-foot box truck.
If you already own trucks that meet our specifications, you may modify and rebrand them and then use them in the Franchised Business, provided that they are dedicated for use in the Franchised Business.
The vehicles must be painted in accordance with our specifications.
This estimate assumes that you will lease the vehicle(s) and includes the down payment, three months of leasing expenses, and the cost of painting the vehicle to include our signage and the amounts and range of our estimate varies primarily because your current vehicle may meet our requirements and if so, you will not be required to acquire a new vehicle, but if not, you may have initial costs in the form of up-front payments to acquire such a conforming vehicle, up to the full purchase price if you choose not to finance such purchase with the vendor.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to 1 800 Packouts's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may use existing trucks for the business. However, the trucks must meet 1 800 Packouts's specifications and be dedicated solely to the franchise. The vehicles must also be repainted to align with 1 800 Packouts's standards.
Item 7 includes an estimated cost for vehicles ranging from $3,500 to $70,000. The wide range in cost accounts for the possibility of using a currently owned vehicle. If a franchisee's current vehicle meets 1 800 Packouts's standards, they will not be required to acquire a new vehicle.
However, if the existing vehicle does not meet the brand's requirements, the franchisee will incur costs to acquire a conforming vehicle. These costs could include upfront payments or the full purchase price, depending on whether the franchisee chooses to finance the purchase.
