1 800 Packouts requires franchisees to obtain specific computer hardware, mobile devices, and software, including a license to use proprietary software. Currently, franchisees must obtain Xactimate insurance repair estimating software and inventory software for processing insurance claims, along with at least one iPad, office computer, and printer/copier. If a third-party administrator (TPA) or carrier requires other estimating software, the franchisee may be required to use that software as well. Additionally, franchisees must install a firewall and up-to-date anti-virus software on all computer hardware used in connection with the franchised business.
It is important to note that 1 800 Packouts reserves the right to modify the specifications for the components of the Management Systems, which may require franchisees to incur additional costs for purchasing, leasing, or licensing new or modified computer hardware, mobile devices, or software. There are no limitations on the frequency and cost of these potential obligations. While the franchisor cannot estimate future costs, franchisees are obligated to incur these costs to maintain compliance with the system. 1 800 Packouts also has the right to charge a reasonable systems fee for software or system modifications and enhancements, as well as for maintenance and support services related to the Management Systems.
