What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the General Security Agreement's security interest is designed to remain in effect despite any interactions or dealings between 1-800-GOT-JUNK? (the Secured Party) and the franchisee (the Debtor). This means that the security interest 1-800-GOT-JUNK? holds on the franchisee's assets (the Collateral) will continue regardless of any agreements, actions, or changes in the financial relationship between the two parties.

This provision protects 1-800-GOT-JUNK?'s interest in the collateral. Even if the franchisee's debt is temporarily reduced or paid off, the security interest remains valid, allowing 1-800-GOT-JUNK? to maintain its claim on the assets should the franchisee incur further debt or obligations. This also applies even if there are other agreements or claims on the same assets.

For a prospective 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchisee, this means that the security interest granted to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? is a continuous and robust claim on the franchisee's assets. It is not easily diminished or extinguished by typical business dealings. Franchisees should be aware that this security interest persists even if they temporarily reduce their debt to zero, as it will be reinstated with any new advances or obligations.
