What This Means (2025 FDD)
Based on the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the excerpts provided do not contain information regarding the relocation of a 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchise. The excerpts do include the franchise agreement, which defines the territory granted to the franchisee. The agreement also contains information regarding the transfer of the franchise to a new franchisee.
While the FDD excerpts do not explicitly address relocation, Schedule B of the Franchise Agreement does define the "Franchised Location" and "Territory". It is important to note that the territory is defined with zip codes and a map, and in the event of a discrepancy, the map governs. This suggests the territory is intended to be fixed.
Since the FDD excerpts do not provide details on relocation, it is important for a prospective 1-800-GOT-JUNK? franchisee to ask the franchisor about the possibility of relocating their franchise. Specifically, they should inquire about the conditions under which relocation might be permitted, any associated fees or requirements, and the impact relocation could have on their existing franchise agreement and territory rights. Understanding the franchisor's policy on relocation is crucial for making an informed investment decision.
